A qualitative research design was used, involving 33 semi-structured interviews with professionals from knowledge-intensive organizations. The data were analyzed using a systematic coding process to identify key themes.
Student well-being (SWB) encompasses the physical, psychological, and social wellness of students, aspects increasingly at risk in the high-pressure environment of higher education. Marked by intense workloads, unmet expectations, and uncertainties around degree completion and employment, the higher education sector faces a growing challenge in maintaining and enhancing SWB. Current instruments for assessing SWB are limited in scope, failing to capture its multifaceted nature comprehensively. Addressing this gap, our research adopts a rigorous multi-study, multi-method, and multi-sample approach to develop and validate a multi-dimensional scale that effectively captures the nuances of SWB. This process encompassed five methodical stages: scale generation, scale purification, scale refinement, scale validation, and scale generalizability. The resulting SWB scale, encompassing five key dimensions …
The contemporary business environment steered by forces of globalization, digitization and automation can only be navigated by a resilient workforce. This requires inculcating self-leadership (SL) traits in individuals, which will allow them to exercise self-direction and self-motivation required to survive high-strain situations. The SL characteristics most significantly reflected by Musk are self-goal setting, authenticity and responsibility. Least evidence was found for positive self-talk and self-cueing. This study aims to add to the repertoire of leadership studies, furnishing important implications for academia and practice. Design/methodology/approach In this paper, the authors explore the dimensionality of SL through a systematic literature review. The authors also take the case of Elon Musk, one of the most resilient technopreneurs in the contemporary business world, and scrutinize his journey as a self-leader …
All of us are having to operate under a ‘new normal’ in a post-COVID-19 pandemic peak. On the one hand, as business organisations have been trying to move towards normal operational and financial capability post the 2007/08 global crash, the outbreak of the pandemic in 2019/20 has provided many new challenges and opportunities. Dealing with the challenges will enhance business organisational and operational efficiency and effectiveness and enable staff and Human Resource Management to innovatively think outside the box. As the lifeblood of regional and national economies worldwide, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are pivotal in spearheading innovative strategies of how Human Resource professionals and staff can mitigate against the challenges whilst maximising the opportunities from now onwards.

In addition, this paper proposes a conceptual framework and propositions.
With new hybrid working models in place post COVID-19, it is requisite that knowledge workers (KWs) stay agile. Knowledge-oriented leadership (KOL) can help employees with essential knowledge acquisition (KA) facilitating the journey toward hybrid work agility (HWA). This study, thus, aims to explore the impact of KOL and KA on HWA and reveal whether this effect stems uniformly from a single homogenous population or if there is unobserved heterogeneity leading to identifiable segments of agile KWs.
Consumers living in today's almost demystified world of consumption are constantly searching for new ways to add value to their lives. Consumption of material goods or owning favorite brands are common ways for consumers to satisfy this deep-seated desire. In this context, a bond between consumers and brands can be formed. This close bond between a consumer and a brand fuels passion. Despite a long history of interest in studying consumers' brand passions and a plethora of passion studies, an attempt has yet to be made to synthesize marketing literature on brand passions, which merits further attention. Therefore, this paper aims to review passion literature and propose agendas for future research from a marketing perspective. Specifically, the goal is to inspire more brand passion research by identifying significant research gaps based on how the brand passion construct has been used in marketing …

COVID-19 pandemic has brought significant and multiple challenges for SMEs. While SMEs have traditionally faced financial and non-financial crises, the pandemic has brought about additional uncertainties on how to maintain business continuity. The purpose of this paper is to examine how SMEs can mitigate against COVID-19-related crisis by examining the impacts that the pandemic has had on them through a review of 34 articles.
Purpose -
This study aims to examine the comprehensive relationship among dimensions of social capital (SC) and web 2.0 on tacit knowledge sharing (TKS). This research studies innovative work behavior (IWB) as an outcome of TKS. The study also aims to examine the moderating impact of absorptive capacity (AC).
Design/methodology/approach -
The empirical research collected data from 497 information technology (IT) professionals working in IT organizations. Data were evaluated and presented in tables using the Smart PLS 3.3.3 software.
Purpose -
The study explores the impact of knowledge management (KM) enablers, i.e. trust and organizational climate, on KM processes. The study further observes the indirect relationship of KM processes on organizational performance via the mediating role of knowledge workers' satisfaction in cross-cultural settings.
Design/methodology/approach -
This research used a survey of 784 educational and administrative personnel from higher education institutions (HEIs) in Pakistan and China. Smart Partial Least Square (PLS) 3.2.9 was employed to perform the analysis.
Knowledge has vital role in the development of an economy. Universities have switched to interacting with industries like never before to achieve excellence. On the other hand, industries look forward to working and partnering with academics to a greater extent and firms are pushed to innovate by the ever-increasing competitive market forces. Fostering university/industry (U/I) relationships can pave the way for the participating firms and their subsidiaries for building social capital and portrays trust, shared goals, and network ties as the pivotal elements of the social capital theory. In this paper, we develop a theoretical model based on the integrated view that communication is the medium for building trust and strong social ties. This, in turn, can enhance the quality and effectiveness of the knowledge transferred and its utilization for inducing innovation, adapting to sophisticated technology, which in turn foster growth
Purpose -
The purpose of this study is to identify and explain the role of motivation in facilitating knowledge sharing (KS). This study explains the connection between “motivation” and “knowledge sharing” or KS. Research finding offers significant theoretical and practical suggestions. Theoretically, the study provides clarity on various motivation theories and important constructs in KS.
Design/methodology/approach -
This research reviews the literature on knowledge management in detail along with other published works. A search was conducted using online databases on the Web of Science (WoS) and Google Scholar. An analysis was done with the help of qualitative software NVivo 12 to critically analyze literature.
Purpose -
The purpose of this bibliometric and systematic literature review is to survey and evaluate key study’s in tacit knowledge (TK). Through analysing and synthesizing based on the antecedents, decisions, outcomes-theories, context and methods (ADO-TCM) framework, this paper highlights research gaps and avenues for future research. It is important to recognize the antecedents, results and theories in the available literature as it offers enough evidence for encouraging the significance of TK.
Design/methodology/approach -
This research paper follows a bibliometric analysis and systematic approach in identifying, analyzing and synthesizing pertinent literature in TK. A total of 59 research studies were carefully and systematically reviewed with the help of NVivo12 and excel software to code and analyse.
SMEs contribute substantially to global employment and economic growth. Yet constraints such as lack of capital, human resources and knowledge capability have rendered SMEs operationally incapacitated to report on environmental, social and governance (ESG) requirements. In this policy paper, we first highlight SMEs’ key challenges as they try to recover from crises post-COVID-19. Next, we propose policy actions and recommendations to address such challenges by discussing the effectiveness of best practice frameworks that will help SMEs in sustainable strategy development. Additionally, we propose better policy frameworks to enable SMEs to report on ESGs and contribute to specific SDGs.
Ms. Asha had been my professor for Marketing Research in my graduation course. She was not only a teacher, but a mentor and a friend. The ease with which she had taught us made us love the subject. I have been in touch with her since, and she has always been an inspiration. Wishing her the best and lucky are the students who get to be taught by her. Thank you for your continuing support.
Asha Ma’am is one of the very few close inspirational people I’ve met who as she ages, seem to be bringing more and more excellence to her professional growth. She never seems to be putting a full stop and is always on the go to pursue something bigger. I always say this and still say it- she is the best teacher and mentor one could ask for and evidently has bagged her spot as a favourite for most students. Beautiful in an out, I see her as an epitome of the Oneplus tagline- ‘Never Settle’.
There is a thin line between guidance and persuasion which many teachers might not realise and that's what makes Dr. Asha Thomas so unique. Often, teachers tend to project and may drive students in a direction which aligns with their train of thought. Such unsupportive environment may tamper with the learner's individuality and instincts. As a professor, Dr. Thomas has consistently exhorted her students to accept their uniqueness and created a nurturing environment to develop the child's mind. Rightly quoted by Alexandra K Trenfor, " The best teachers are those who show you where to look, but don't tell you what to see."
Poised with beauty and brain, a hard working and learned intellectual. Always willing to help the budding researchers and fellas...your wit and smile breaks the acuity of sombre researchers. Number of publications speaks volume about you....best wishesh and regards...
Respected Ma'am, In the words of Albert Einstein " It is the supreme art of a teacher to awakwen joy in creative expression and knowledge. That is exactly how you taught us Research. The subject that we assumed to be a tough and boring one was transformed into a fascinating subject about which we became more curious to learn and now working at world's best database company as a researcher. Everyday the enthusiasm with which you entered the class or even logged into the online class, we could not help but be filled with joy and enthusiasm. Your energy is so contagious, and I believe it to be one of the best aspects of your teaching style. Lastly, I would like to Thank you for Everything ma'am.
It was an amazing experience with you ma'am. The way you explain the topics by giving examples or by framing the topics in the form of story, it was so amazing. I even don't know how I got learned the same topic in your lectures only. You're an amazing teacher and guider. Thank you so much ma'am for your precious lectures.
When I was in my masters one of my Faculties used to tell us "A researchers journey is a very lonely journey" and I was never able to relate the same until I started pursuing my PhD and faced a lot of Challenges and uncertainties. But fortunately I was able to find a senior cum mentor in Asha Thomas ma'am who was readily available to take up and resolve my smallest of the doubts.
It might appear to be a very small thing but when you are drowning a little ray of hope gives you all the strength you need. Thank you very much ma'am for all the guidance, inspiration and mentorship, I am sure that you will keep inspiring and guiding thousands of students like in years to come.
Thank you once again for your unconditional support and guidance, really means a lot.
